News in your Windows 7

Posted: on January 2, 2009 at 16:35. Last Update: 2 January 2009 at 16:35.

There are some interesting innovations in the license (End User License Agreement, EULA) for Windows 7, as noted by Ed Bott Blog zdnet.
You can install any number of copies, then there is no limit to the number of copies of Windows 7 that you can install. This formulation, however, may change when it issued the first public beta.
You can not install Windows 7 in a production environment. Usually this is a suggestion that is given to users when dealing with software still in beta, in this case is explicitly in this license.
The first software expiring in August 2009. This would believe that the final version of Windows 7 could leave in the summer.
You can install the software in a virtual machine.
It is still the activation and validation. Who would have thought that Microsoft changed line will be disappointed. The license describes in particular the activation, the section on validation is identical to the one made for Windows Vista, including the phrase "You are not permitted to circumvent validation."
You can not disclose the results of tests.

You may not disclose the results of any benchmark tests of the software to any third party without Microsoft's prior written approval.

As with the earlier beta versions of Microsoft operating system license provides for the prohibition to disclose the results of any tests to third parties without that there is a written authorization from Microsoft.
