Alpha 2 is the second in a series of milestone CD images that will be released throughout the Natty development cycle. New packages showing up for the first time include:
* LibreOffice 3.3 (has replaced OpenOffice.org 3.2)
* X.org Server 1.10 and Mesa 7.10
* Linux Kernel 2.6.38-rc2.

Annunciato (http://bit.ly/idsOYI) il rilascio della prima alpha della distribuzione linux Ubuntu 11.04, nome in codice "Natty Narwhal".

"Unity is now the default in the Ubuntu desktop session. The Unity Launcher is now available; it can be used to launch applications that are pinned to the launcher and switch between running applications. It supports quick lists on context menu. It can be set to auto-hide. Places is not yet available in alpha 1. Clicking the Ubuntu logo in the upper left of the screen will open the applications directory."
