Annunciato il rilascio di FreeBSD 13.3.

The FreeBSD Release Engineering Team is pleased to announce the availability of FreeBSD 13.3-RELEASE. This is the fourth release of the stable/13 branch.

Some of the highlights:

  • LLVM and the clang compiler have been updated to version 17.0.6.

  • OpenSSH has been updated to version 9.6p1.

  • Sendmail has been updated to version 8.18.1.

  • ZFS has been updated to OpenZFS 2.1.14.

  • There have been many stability fixes to native and LinuxKPI-based WiFi drivers.

  • The NFS server can now run in an appropriately configured vnet jail.

Annunciato il rilascio della versione 9.2 di FreeBSD

The FreeBSD Release Engineering Team is pleased to announce the availability of FreeBSD 9.2-RELEASE. This is the second release from the stable/9 branch, which improves on the stability of FreeBSD 9.1 and introduces some new features. Some of the highlights:

  • The ZFS filesystem now supports TRIM when used on solid state drives.
  • The virtio(4) drivers have been added to the GENERIC kernel configuration for amd64 and i386 architectures.
  • The ZFS filesystem now supports lz4 compression.
  • OpenSSL has been updated to version 0.9.8y.
  • DTrace hooks have been enabled by default in the GENERIC kernel.
  • DTrace has been updated to version 1.9.0.
  • Sendmail has been updated to version 8.14.7.
  • OpenSSH has been updated to version 6.2p2.
  • Import unmapped I/O support from head/.

Rilasciato Parted magic 6.7

Most notable updates include, Linux 3.0.4 and GParted 0.9.1. We have dropped the legacy PCManFM for PCManFM-Mod, and man is it nice. Lots a little PCManfm bugs that have existed for years are now quashed. Xfburn replaces SimpleBurn for burning CDROM/DVD media. Chntpw was added to the boot menu. Adding Luxi fonts improved international language support. Although it's not the newest released, Firefox is updated to firefox-6.0.2 and is compiled for i486 (official branding included) with permission from the Mozilla Foundation. OpenSSH is updated to 5.9p1 with the ecdsa key created by default.

OpenSSH is a 100% complete SSH protocol version 1.3, 1.5 and 2.0 implementation and includes sftp client and server support.
Features:
* Implement Elliptic Curve Cryptography modes for key exchange (ECDH) and host/user keys (ECDSA) as specified by RFC5656.
* sftp(1)/sftp-server(8): add a protocol extension to support a hard link operation.
* scp(1): Add a new -3 option to scp: Copies between two remote hosts are transferred through the local host.
* ssh(1): automatically order the hostkeys requested by the client based on which hostkeys are already recorded in known_hosts.
* ssh(1): "atomically" create the listening mux socket by binding it on a temporary name and then linking it into position after listen() has succeeded.
