The Fedora Project is excited to announce the beta release of Fedora 20, code-named 'Heisenbug'. A community-produced, free, Linux-based operating system, Fedora 20 features some of the latest and best of what the open source world has to offer. The Fedora 20 release coincides nicely with the 10th anniversary of Fedora. The first Fedora release (then called Fedora Core 1) came out on November 6, 2003.

Nuovo update per lo stable channel di Google Chrome

Chrome has been updated to 31.0.1650.48 for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Chrome Frame.

Flash Player has been updated to 11.9.900.152, which is included w/ this release.

This update includes 25 security fixes.

This release of Clonezilla Live includes minor enhancements and bug fixes: the underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded, this release is based on the Debian 'sid' repository (as of 2012-11-26); Linux kernel was updated to 3.2.32; package drbl was updated to 2.1.34-drbl1, and Clonezilla was updated to 3.1.22; a KMS mode was added in the boot menu; Partclone was updated to 0.2.56; packages tcplay and mpg123 were added; boot parameter 'ocs_lang' is now replaced by 'locales' from live-config

For users everywhere

• Fedora 18 offers a brand-new version of the Gnome desktop, version 3.6, straight from the upstream development process. Updates have also been made to the KDE, XFCE and Sugar desktop environments; additionally, the MATE desktop is available for the first time in Fedora.
• Fedora's new installer user interface enhances the anaconda installer with improvements in easeof use and installation.

For developers

• This release includes several language updates, including the move to Perl 5.16, updating the Python 3 stack from 3.2 to 3.3, Rails 3.2 and updated D and Haskell programming environments.

For system administrators

• Fedora 18 includes the final release of Samba 4, and can be used on an Active Directory domain out of the box. An integrated, new native management software allows you to access data and server information easily.
• OpenStack in Fedora 18 has been updated to Folsom, the most recent release by the OpenStack community. This Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform enables the creation and management of cloud infrastructure.
• Eucalyptus 3.1, another IaaS platform, is available in Fedora for the first time, and includes the major components of Eucalyptus.
• Storage System Management CLI tools simplify the user interface by providing unified abstraction and interface for multiple storage technologies, including lvm, btrfs and md raid.

Microsoft aveva già annunciato (http://bit.ly/dLkNJF) alla fine di settembre l'intenzione di migrare tutti i blog da Windows Live Spaces a Wordpress.com, decisione che riguarda circa 30 milioni di utenti. Gli utenti avranno 6 mesi di tempo a partire da settembre e fino a marzo 2011 per migrare il loro blog da Windows Live Spaces a Wordpress.com.
