Oracle ha effettuato l'update di Java 7 SDK. JDK 7u10 è adesso certificata per Mac OS X 10.8 e Windows 8.
The JDK 7u10 release includes the following enhancements:
- The ability to disable any Java application from running in the browser. This mode can be set in the Java Control Panel or (on Microsoft Windows platform only) using a command-line install argument.
- The ability to select the desired level of security for unsigned applets, Java Web Start applications, and embedded JavaFX applications that run in a browser. Four levels of security are supported. This feature can be set in the Java Control Panel or (on Microsoft Windows platform only) using a command-line install argument.
- New dialogs to warn you when the JRE is insecure (either expired or below the security baseline) and needs to be updated.

Exactly one year after the Spring Framework 3.1 release, I'm pleased to announce that Spring Framework 3.2 is generally available now!
As previously discussed, key features in Spring Framework 3.2 include:* Refined Java SE 7 support within the framework as well as through upgrades to CGLIB 3.0, ASM 4.0 (both of which we're inlining now) and AspectJ 1.7
* Concurrency refinements across the framework, avoiding the use of synchronization wherever possible – in particular for scoped/prototype beans
* Allowing for @Autowired and @Value to be used as meta-annotations, e.g. to build custom injection annotations in combination with specific qualifiers
* Support for custom @Bean definition annotations in @Configuration classes, e.g. in combination with specific qualifiers, @Lazy, @Primary, etc
* Asynchronous MVC processing on Servlet 3.0, with Spring MVC handler methods being able to return Callables and DeferredResults
* Inclusion of the formerly-standalone Spring MVC Test project, allowing for first-class testing of Spring MVC applications
* Support for loading WebApplicationContexts in the TestContext framework, and further improvements for web application testing
* Early support for JCache 0.5 (JSR-107) as a backend for Spring's cache abstraction

Rilasciata LibreOffice 3.6.4
This is the sixth release from the 3.6 branch of LibreOffice.
It contains many exciting new features, and is the recommended version for home and corporate users.The following notes apply:
- This release is bit-for-bit identical to the 3.6.4 Release Candidate 3, so you don't need to download or reinstall if you have that version already.
- The distribution for Windows is an international build, so you can choose the user interface language that you prefer. Help content is available via an online service, or alternatively as a separate install.
- For Windows users that have LibreOffice prior to version 3.4.5 installed, uninstall that beforehand. Otherwise, the upgrade to 3.6.4 may fail.
- For Windows users that have OpenOffice.org installed, we advise uninstalling that beforehand, because it registers the same file type associations.
- If you run Windows 2000, you may require this update before being able to install LibreOffice.
- If you run Linux, the GCJ Java variant has known issues with LibreOffice, we advise to e.g. use OpenJDK instead.

Oracle ha posticipato la fine vita di Java 6 portandola a febbraio 2013. In precedenza era stata spostata da luglio 2012 a Novembre 2012, adesso questo ulteriore posticipo. L'annuncio è stato dato in un post sul blog di Henrik Stahl, Senior Director di Oracle Product Management, che ha detto che la decisione è stata presa dopo "un'ulteriore consultazione e considerazione". L'ultima versione di Oracle JDK 6 sarà quindi rilasciata nel mese di febbraio 2013.

Java 8 non sarà rilasciata nel 2012, come era precedentemente previsto, ma nell'estate del 2013. Lo ha annunciato il Vice President of Development for the Fusion middleware, Adam Messinger, al JavaOne conference in corso a San Francisco.

Oracle ha rilasciato JavaFX 2.0. L'annuncio è stato dato al JavaOne 2011 in corso a San Francisco, tre anni dopo la presentazione di JavaFX al JavaOne 2008, e due anni e mezzo dopo il rilascio della prima versione di JavaFX.
JavaFX è una famiglia di prodotti basati sulla tecnologia Java che consentono lo sviluppo di Rich Internet Application (RIA).
Oracle ha intenzione di continuare lo sviluppo della piattaforma JavaFX come un progetto open source che sia parte di OpenJDK. Il codice sorgente di JavaFX sarà rilasciato sotto licenza GPL v2 con l'eccezione Classpath, come per gli altri progetti in OpenJDK. JavaFX runtime e il SDK continueranno ad essere rilasciati sotto la Java binary code license.
